Aid Training
First
Aid and CPR Training
will prepare students (ages 12-17) to recognize and
respond to respond to life threatening emergencies such
as:
—Choking
—Breathing
Emergencies —Cardiac
Symptoms —Shock
Students
will learn when and how to perform CPR and will have
plenty of practice time (with one manikin per
participant.)
The
First Aid course will cover emergencies including:
—Fainting
—Diabetic
Shock —Stroke
—Cuts,
burns puncture wounds and bleeding injuries
—Injuries
to bones, muscles and joints —Heat
Stroke and hypothermia
—Asthma
inhalers and breathing emergencies —Allergic
Reactions, Poisoning
—Insect
bites and stings and more.
Red
Cross certifications for CPR and First Aid will be
issued on site, as appropriate.

Red
Cross Babysitter’s
Training
Gain
the Skills and Confidence to Be a Great Babysitter.
For young people 11-15 years old, who want the knowledge
and skills to care for infants through school-aged
children. Participants will practice child care skills
including: holding, feeding, burping, and diapering.
Students will explore games and activities for school
aged children. Basic first aid and injury prevention
issues are covered in addition to the practical side of
being a babysitter. This fun and informative class will
lead to a babysitter’s certification card upon
successful completion.
Basic
Aid Training BAT
Safety
awareness and training program for youth between 9 and
11 years of age. Covers home alone issues including fire
safety, how to handle phone calls and visitors, how to
get help, and first aid care steps. Students learn how
to recognize life threatening emergencies, when to call
911 and how to provide immediate care for injuries and
breathing emergencies (including choking). Student
workbook includes puzzles, mazes and games. Lessons on
poisoning prevention, burn prevention, fire safety,
substance abuse avoidance and health lifestyle choices
are also included.( Meets Readyman requirements).
Optional units include automobile and water safety
lessons. BAT card issued for course completion.
We
can provide training at your location or arrange for use
of our classroom for groups of 6 or larger. Students are
requested to bring a sack lunch as they will not be
allowed to leave the building for the day. Courses run
approximately 5-6 hours and may be split into shorter
