The
Red Cross is Seeking Nominations for Real Heroes from 12 Counties
The
Chippewa Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross is
seeking nominations for Real Heroes who live in the
Chapter’s 12-county jurisdiction. Nominations are
requested for Real Heroes who live in the following
counties: Barron,
Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire, Pepin,
Pierce, Rusk, Sawyer, Trempealeau and Washburn.
Nominations are due by/on August 15, 2008.
The Real Heroes among us reflect what is best in
your community. They are ordinary people whose actions
demonstrate the potential that is in all of us. If
someone is a hero in your eyes, we encourage you to
nominate them today!
Selected
Real Heroes will be honored at the Sixth Annual Real
Heroes Awards Dinner celebration on Thursday, January
29, 2009, held at Florian Gardens in Eau Claire, Wis.
This is an event that celebrates selfless acts of
courage and kindness by real people in your community.
We are seeking
nominations for Real Heroes in the following categories:
Adult
Good Samaritan, Youth Good Samaritan (under age 18), Law
Enforcement, Fire & Rescue, Health Care, Community,
Red Cross Hero of the Year, and Hero of a Lifetime (20+
years of service or good deeds).

brochure.
Nominating your Real Hero is easy. Just fill out the
nomination brochure, include two to three paragraphs
written from the heart describing the act of courage or
kindness and explaining why your hero deserves to be
recognized. The paragraphs may be typed or handwritten.
You may also include up to three documents, such as
letters of support, news articles, or photographs.
