First Aid and CPR Combination Courses

Adult CPR with First Aid 5 ½ Hours*

Target Audience: Business and industry employees who want or need first aid and Adult CPR training; employers seeking OSHA compliance in a one day training session.

Summary: Recognizing and caring for injuries or sudden illnesses until advanced medical care can take over. Handling emergency situations, breathing and cardiac emergencies, CPR, basic disease transmission precautions, identifying and caring for life-threatening bleeding, sudden illness, and injuries.

Adult CPR/AED with First Aid 6 ½ Hours*

Target Audience: Business and industry employees who want or need first aid, CPR and AED training; employers seeking OSHA compliance in a one day training session.

Summary: Recognizing and caring for injuries or sudden illnesses, including use of an AED, until advanced medical care can take over. Handling emergency situations, breathing and cardiac emergencies, adult CPR, basic disease transmission precautions, identifying and caring for life-threatening bleeding, sudden illness, and injuries. How to use an AED for victims of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).

Adult, Child & Infant CPR with First Aid 8 ½ Hours*

Target Audience: Employees, members of the community, civic organizations, teachers, child-care and day care workers, parents and grandparents.

Summary: Recognizing and caring for injuries or sudden illnesses until advanced medical care can take over. Handling emergency situations, breathing and cardiac emergencies, CPR, basic disease transmission precautions, identifying and caring for life-threatening bleeding, sudden illness, and injuries.

AED Essentials 2 Hours

Target Audience: For individuals who already have been issued an American Red Cross Adult CPR certificate or equivalent within the previous year and want to add AED skills.

Summary: Teaches the skills and knowledge needed to care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest through use of an AED.

First Aid and CPR Courses

First Aid 3 ¾ Hours

Target Audience: Business and industry employees or individuals that want or need the skills to recognize and provide basic first aid care for injuries, sudden illnesses and emergencies. Also employers seeking OSHA compliance in a one day training session.

Summary: Basic care for injuries or sudden illnesses until advanced medical care can take over. Handling emergency situations, basic disease transmission precautions; recognizing and caring for: bleeding; wounds; immobilizing muscle; bone and joint injuries; sudden illnesses including stroke, diabetic shock, allergic reactions, poisoning, fainting, inhaler use, hypothermia, and heat stroke.

Adult CPR 3 ½ Hours*

Target Audience: Business and industry employees or individuals who want or need CPR training; employers seeking OSHA compliance in a one day training session.

Summary: Recognizing and caring for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, handling emergency situations until advanced medical assistance is available. Recognizing symptoms of cardiac arrest, conscious choking, and shock. Adult CPR and basic precautions for preventing disease transmission.

Adult CPR/AED 4 ½ Hours*

Target Audience: Business and industry employees or individuals who want or need CPR and AED training; employers seeking OSHA compliance in a one day training session.

Summary: Recognizing and handling emergency situations, caring for breathing and cardiac emergencies, performing CPR and using an AED on victims of sudden cardiac arrest until advanced medical assistance is available. Basic precautionary procedures to prevent disease transmission.

CPR for the Professional Rescuer 8 Hours*

Target Audience: Nursing program students, ublic safety personnel, lifeguards, emergency response team members, first aid station members, students at police, fire, and rescue services academies, health care professionals, athletic trainers.

Summary: Covers recognizing and caring for breathing and cardiac emergencies, two rescuer CPR, use of resuscitation mask and bag-valve-mask, AEDs in adults, children, and infants.

Child and Infant CPR 5 ½ Hours

Target Audience: Employees, members of the community, civic organizations, teachers, child-care and day care workers, parents and grandparents.

Summary: Preventing, recognizing and providing basic care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants and children under the age of 8 until advanced medical assistance is available. Basic precautionary procedures to prevent disease transmission.

Bloodborne Pathogen Training

Bloodborne Pathogens 2 Hours

Target Audience: Employees who may come in contact with infectious materials as part of their job (First aid providers, EMTs, paramedics, fire fighters, health care workers hotel workers, lifeguards, etc). OSHA compliant.

Summary: Transmission of disease, employer’s exposure control plan, emergency and follow-up procedures, preventing disease transmission.

Youth Programs

Babysitter's Training 6 ½ Hours

Target Audience: Young people 11-15 years old who want the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants through school-aged children.

Summary: Basic child care skills to care for infants through school-aged children. First aid, safety issues, injury prevention.

Basic Aid Training (B.A.T.) 6-12 Hours

Target Audience: Children 8-12 years old. (Grades 4-6)

Summary: Basic first aid skills including choking emergencies, water safety, bicycle & car safety, avoiding drugs, information on injury prevention and health, staying safe when home alone.

Challenge / Review Courses

Definition of a Challenge class: Students are responsible knowledge of the skills and written exam upon entering the class. There is no review of material or video segments. Students must pass with 80 % on the written exam and perform the skills according to the American Red Cross Guidelines. Students who do not meet the criteria for passing are still responsible for payment and anyone without a current certification will be required to take a regular class. Challenge prices do not reflect pocket mask or text. Pocket masks are required for the CPR – Pro Challenge.

Instructor Courses

Fundamentals of Instructor Training 4 ½ Hours

Target Audience: All instructor candidates who are enrolled in American Red Cross instructor training.

Summary: A pre-requisite for Instructor classes, provides knowledge and background to Red Cross policies and procedures and provides insight to different styles of learning.

First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Course 17 Hours

Target Audience: Individuals or employees who are interested in training the public or co-workers with American Red Cross knowledge and skills. Must be at least 17 years of age.

Summary: American Red Cross instructor and participant training programs meet the highest quality training standards and provide the most current information. A detailed instructional process helps instructors expand their teaching skills and technical expertise.

Target Audience: Employees, members of the community, civic organizations, teachers, child-care and day care workers, parents and grandparents.
